About the Blessings in a Backpack Chicago Chapter
In the Chicago region, nearly 600,000 kids are at risk of going hungry this weekend. These are children who rely on their school’s free and reduced-price meal programs to provide the nourishment they need to learn and grow.
What happens when schools close their doors on Friday? Who will feed the kids this weekend Together, we will. To ensure kids in our community have the nutrition they need over the weekend, Blessings in a Backpack sends them home on Fridays with backpacks full of satisfying, nutritious food.
