Volunteer Spotlight: Stefanie Giannini
Stefanie runs our Black Hawk Elementary and G. Stanley Hall Elementary programs in Glendale Heights where we feed a total of 360 kids every weekend of the school year.
“Blessings in a Backpack has not only contributed to the health and wellness of our students who receive blessings each week, but it has contributed to the overall culture of our organization and community. Mrs. Z (our Marquardt Middle School Secretary), who spearheads and manages the actual packing of the bags, has utilized BIBs to increase the leadership and volunteerism among our middle school students participating in the club Serving Society! In addition, Mrs. Z and her amazing middle school leaders have worked with Hall’s younger students (Pre K through 2nd) to help pack BIBs as a way to give back to their community with an age-appropriate activity. Blessings in a Backpack has truly become a staple program in our district, and I know our students and parents are very grateful for the food students receive. It’s amazing to hear students at both Blackhawk and Hall proudly talk about what they receive in their bags each week, and it is because of the great reputation the program has, that we now have other schools asking how they can be a part of the program!” – Stefanie Giannini
Thank you Stefanie and Mrs. Z!
